Heart of the Outdoors is a ministry devoted to reaching people for Jesus Christ through the outdoors. Whether it is hunting, fishing, or archery we at heart of the Outdoors believe that God gave us these passions not just for our own enjoyment, but as a tool to encourage the saved and reach the lost. Using a love for the outdoors to bridge the gap, common ground is established, creating a great opportunity to share our true passion – Jesus Christ. Through events and personal relationships, Heart of the Outdoors will impact individuals spiritually where they feel most comfortable, the outdoors. Ministries and activities will include but not limited to outdoor adventure videos and outdoor adventure activates such as hunting, fishing, archery, etc. Other activities may include festivals, community service projects, or mission trips. The purpose of all activities is to establish common ground between the Heart of the Outdoors staff and the participants that we serve to encourage and promote a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and to share the gospel from the bible. Here are some detailed descriptions of some of the activities:

  • Video Ministry - In order to reach a broader audience, Heart of the Outdoors has created a video ministry. These videos will consist of exciting outdoor adventure activities with the direct purpose of letting the viewers know that the outdoors didn’t just happen but was created by a loving God and that he wants a personal relationship with everyone, that he sent his only son Jesus Christ to die on the cross to bear the sin of the world and that the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. For example here is a quote from the The Harvester “most of you have seen the beauty of nature and know that it didn’t just happen by chance. In the bible the book of Genesis God talks about creating the heavens and the earth, the water and the sky, the land and the vegetation on it, the fish of the sea, the birds of the air and the animals that roamed the earth. When he was finished creating what we call the outdoors he created man in his own image. You know folks the fact is, the evidence is undeniable at the heart of it all is God. So the next time you’re outdoors enjoying the beauty of nature don’t forget who created it”. Incorporated in the videos will be quotes from scripture and personal testimonies of how the Lord has changed the life of that individual. The gospel which comes form the books of the bible Mathew, Mark, Luke, and John will be presented through out the videos. Hunting will include but not limited to: a youth hunt open to youth under the age of 16 with a valid hunting license. Representatives of Heart of the Outdoors will take youth to a private property or private state hunting grounds on a day specifically designated by that particular state in accordance with all state laws and regulations and conduct a youth hunt. Heart of the Outdoors will own any and all intellectual property rights to the videos produced by Heart of the Outdoors. We will be recording parts of all events and programs including but not limited to hunting trips, fishing trips, camping activities, backpacking, church programs, archery shoots, and seminars.

  • Mission Trips - Include but not limited to: going to a local or distant church and helping with mission projects beneficial to the overall mission of the church. For example, helping with building projects or grounds maintenance, painting, lawn care, street evangelism, preaching or aiding in whatever capacity needed. The direct purpose of a mission trip would be to spread or to help spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.

  • Community Service -Includes removing garbage from a roadway or serving at a food pantry. The purpose of this event is to serve others allowing our actions to share the love of the Lord. The direct purpose of this event is to spread the love of Christ.
Heart of the Outdoors will include programs such as Adopt-a-Hunter, Adopt-a-Fisher and Archery in the church. These programs would accept any individual regardless of age to be introduced to the sport. A representative of Heart of the Outdoors would take an individual and get them started in the sport and along the way mentor them in Christ through lifestyle evangelism, prayer, and bible reading. For instance if an individual wanted to get involved in Adopt-a-Fishing, a representative would teach them how to fish and the techniques involved with the sport. The representative would proceed to take the individual fishing. The archery program could take place on any given night at a local church for 6 weeks or a one time event. The program would introduce individuals to the sport of archery progressively through the 6 week program. The programs are complete when the individual has learned the necessities of the sport according to their ability. At the beginning of each activity or throughout the program their will be prayer, also messages from the bible and personal testimonies of what the Lord has done in the speakers life. Everyone will be given an opportunity to make a decision to accept the Lord. The purpose of these events and programs is to use the outdoors or outdoor related activity to bridge the gap, to establish common ground, and to create an opportunity to share our true passion – Jesus Christ.
